Parade Route:
Valleyfest Parade Route
The floats will enter Sprague Ave at Appleway Florist and proceed east until the Spokane Heritage Museum. Come early, get your chairs in place and visit Spokane Valley restaurants for a great meal.

The “Hearts of Gold” Parade kicks off Friday evening, September 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Come early, bring the family and prepare to enjoy two hours of marching bands, floats, mascots, dancers, classic cars, fire trucks and more! In 2012 PJ Jarvis, National Physical Education Teacher of the Year, is Grand Marshal. Jarvis has taught at Central Valley for more than 10 years and is currently teaching at Opportunity Elementary. Jarvis, an award winning educator, has developed creative lessons that engage both her student’s brains and bodies each day.

The origins of the “Hearts of Gold” Parade can be traced back prior to World War II when The Dishman School began the tradition to celebrate the Heart of Gold cantaloupe that once grew in the Valley. Valleyfest kept the name because the Spokane Valley citizens have “Hearts of Gold”.
